I discovered my passion for sewing shortly after graduating and getting into the 'real world'. I started making costumes for Renaissance Faires and Halloween whic quickly evolved into quilting. I called this my obsessive compulsive sewing...I mean why else would someone cut perfectly good fabric into a million little pieces, only to sew it back together? Anyhow, my friends began having babies and although my quilts were fun and really great gifts, they took an awful long time to finish. I realized I needed to make something that was a bit less time consuming.
Sticking with my passion for 'all things baby', I found myself seeing various items and thinking up ways to make them more fun and creative. Right around this time I also found myself pregnant with my first child. I spent most of my days preparing for his arrival, though I just couldnt get away from my love affair with the sewing machine. After he was born I found new things to make and realized that people really loved the gifts I was giving them, so much so that they started telling me I should start a business.
Night Sky Kids is born! The name is a direct reflection of my babies, as everything I get out of sewing is from my passion for children and creation. Both kids have references to astrology for their middle names, and my amazing graphic designer found the perfect way to pull those references into this site design and logo.
That is pretty much all there is to me, married with 2 great kids, running a small business in my spare time (which means evenings and weekends when the kids are with daddy) and just loving life. I didnt start this business to make a million dollars, but I did do it to be able to make people smile because they love what I'm creating. Please take an extra moment to think about what might make your order extra special to the person who will get it. I will do my best to accomodate all requests.
